BETWEEN HIS PROMISE, HIS WILL FOR US, AND DIVINE TIMING

WILL DO A NEW THING — Isaiah 43:19
Text: "Behold, I will do a
new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a
way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
1.
INTRODUCTION
Every
believer lives in three dimensions of God's dealings:
A. His Promise — What He said He will do
B. His Will — What He wants for us (His character and purpose)
C. Divine Timing — WHEN He chooses to do it
Many people
get frustrated not because God has not spoken, but because they don't
understand the gap between Promise and Fulfillment. That gap is called PROCESS,
and it is governed by Divine Timing.
A. HIS
PROMISE (What God Has Said)
- God is a Promise-keeping God.
Numbers 23:19, 2 Corinthians 1:20
- His promise is sure, even when
circumstances say otherwise.
- Example: God promised Abraham a
son at 75, but Isaac came at 100. The promise never changed, the time did.
B. HIS
WILL FOR US (What God Wants)
- His will is always good, even
when His promise is delayed.
- Jeremiah 29:11 — "Thoughts
of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
- Romans 12:2 — Good, Acceptable,
and Perfect Will.
- Sometimes we hold a promise but
we are not yet in the WILL that can carry it. God works on us to align us
with His will.
C. DIVINE
TIMING (Kairos — God's Appointed Time)
- Ecclesiastes 3:1 — "To
everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose."
- Habakkuk 2:3 — "Though
it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not
tarry."
- Galatians 4:4 — Jesus came "when
the fullness of time was come."
- Divine timing is not punishment,
it is preparation.
3. WHY
THE GAP? (Between Promise and Manifestation)
1.
Preparation of the Vessel: Joseph had the dream at 17, became Prime Minister at
30. God was building character. Genesis 37, 41
2.
Preparation of the Environment: David was anointed by Samuel, but waited until Saul was
removed. 1 Samuel 16:13
3.
Maturity for Management: God will not give you what will kill you. The promise
will crush an immature carrier.
4.
Warfare and Resistance: Daniel 10:12-13 — The answer was released on day 1, but
the prince of Persia resisted for 21 days.
4. HOW TO
LIVE BETWEEN PROMISE AND TIMING
A. Keep
The Word of Promise Alive: Romans 4:20-21 — Abraham was "strong in faith, giving
glory to God." Don't stop confessing what He said.
B. Align
Yourself With His Will Daily: Ask — "Lord, is my life, my character, my service
aligning with what You want for me now?" 1 John 2:17
C. Don't
Force Timing: Abraham
forced timing with Hagar and created Ishmael — a problem that still lives
today. Genesis 16. Wait.
D. Serve
Faithfully Where You Are: Ruth was faithful in the field of Boaz before she became owner of
the field. Your faithfulness in Umueze Awkunanaw today is preparing your next
level.
E. Engage
Prayer and Fasting: Divine
Timing is provoked by pressing. Acts 2 — they waited until Pentecost came.
5. SIGNS
THAT DIVINE TIMING IS NEAR
1.
Increased
burden and restlessness
2.
Doors
you didn't knock begin to open — Isaiah 43:19 says "I will make a
way"
3.
God
starts separating you from distractions
4.
Unusual
favour from men
6.
CONCLUSION & PROPHETIC DECLARATION FOR SEPTEMBER
Between His
Promise and His Timing, never doubt His Will. If He promised it, He will
perform it — and this September, God will do a new thing in your life!
Your
wilderness will become a highway.
Your desert will become a river.
The wait is over, the appointed time has come!
