CAN A CHRISTIAN DIVORCE?

CAN A CHRISTIAN DIVORCE?

A Short Gospel Message

My Breathren, let God’s word speak to us 🙏

Can a Christian divorce? No.

Should they separate? Yes, in some cases.

Is divorce a sin? God hates it.

Here is why:

 1. GOD’S ORIGINAL PLAN

“What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” — Matthew 19:6

Marriage is not just a contract. It is a covenant. Two become one flesh.

2. GOD’S HEART ON DIVORCE

“For I hate divorce, says the Lord, the God of Israel.” — Malachi 2:16

God hates divorce because it breaks covenant, breaks families, and breaks hearts. It was never His first plan.

Jesus allowed separation only in extreme cases like adultery and hardness of heart. Matthew 19:9

But even then, His call is to reconciliation if possible. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11

3. WHAT DO WE DO THEN?

Sometimes separation is wisdom. For safety, for healing, for space to seek God.

But separation is not the same as divorce.

The goal is always: “Can God heal this?”

 THE SUMMARY:

We don’t live to please culture.

We do what pleases God. — Colossians 1:10

God is a God of healing, forgiveness, and restoration.

If your marriage is hurting, run to God first, not to the court first.

If you are divorced, God’s grace is still bigger than your past. He can restore and make new. Joel 2:25

Marriage is hard. But God is faithful.

Let us fight for our homes, pray for our homes, and honor God in our homes.

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32

God bless your home 🙏
